Ella has been an incredible support from the pregnancy up until today (my baby is now 14 months). She has been amazing at helping me through all the stages from teaching me how to burp her and bathe her on the early days to helping me navigate nutrition with allergies. With no family living in the UK, we are so grateful that Ella was there in days after our baby's birth to show us the first bath, guide with nursing / pumping, and answer all of our questions (no matter how big or small). Asking Ella to be my doula is one of the best decisions that I've made. She has been so incredibly supportive during the prenatal and postnatal period with my second child. Prenatally, she listened to my desires and needs for my birth and was truly interested in what I wanted.

During birth, she was an amazingly calm presence and she ensured my needs were met. She supported me to make informed decisions during labour. She helped my daughter to feed right after birth, which meant my breastfeeding journey went much more smoothly than it had with my eldest child.

Postnatally, she has given me so much practical and emotional support. From practical help to getting things done around the house and looking after my baby, to being an excellent listener about the challenges of life with a newborn! During the newborn phase it was such a relief having Ella on hand to call or text about concerns with my newborn baby.

Ella is so personable, reliable, and has impressive mental fortitude. Both of my children adore her and it's so obvious from seeing her interact with mine that she adores children. I wish that she had been my doula for the birth of my first child too, I know that she would have made my experience of becoming a parent much more positive!
